Audible is proud to announce the release of Godfrey's stand-up comedy album Regular Black, available exclusively for streaming on Audible Channels on November 16th, and in wide digital release wherever albums are sold on December 9th.
In Regular Black, Godfrey returns to his Chicago roots with an energetic, laugh-out-loud performance at the Up Comedy Club. Showcasing his brash, over the top personality, Godfrey hits the stage with his no-holds-barred style of humor tackling race, ethnicity, and stereotypes in hysterical fashion. Drawing on his Nigerian and American heritage, Godfrey sets aside political correctness to find out what "Regular Black" means.
Godrey has appeared in “Zoolander,” “Johnson Family Vacation,” “The Cook Out” with Queen Latifah, “Phat Girlz” starring Monique, and “Soul Plane,” alongside Snoop Dogg. Godfrey is perhaps best known for his stint as the “7Up Guy” in the popular 7Up national ad campaign.
Godfrey has also made many television appearances including “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and starred in his own one-hour special for Comedy Central, "Godfrey: Black By Accident." He had a recurring role on FX's “Louie,” and was a regular on “Shaquille O’Neal’s Upload” on TruTV.
His one-man show, The Godfrey Complex, was a major hit at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. GQ Magazine said that Godfrey "is set to be one of the biggest performers in the U.S.," following his run at the festival. Godfrey can be seen hosting and headlining some of the most prominent comedy clubs across both coasts including The Comedy Cellar, the Comic Strip, Caroline's Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory and The Improv in Los Angeles.
