LOS ANGELES - In the new IFC Comedy Crib series Neurotica, a plucky dominatrix named Ivy struggles with her OCD and fights to maintain her business when a fancy new MegaDungeon opens in her small town, which could easily be mistaken for Stars Hollow. Created by and starring Jenny Jaffe and produced and directed by Jetpacks Go!.
In an interview with IFC, Jaffe explains the genesis of the series: "I’m pretty sure it was a title-first situation. I was coming up with ideas to pitch to a production company a million years ago (this isn’t hyperbole; I am VERY old) and just wrote down 'Neurotica'; then it just sort of appeared fully formed. 'Neurotica? Oh it’s an over-the-top romantic comedy about a Dominatrix with OCD, of course.' And that just happened to hit the buttons of everything I’m fascinated by."
Season 1, Episode 1 - Top of the Morning - Ivy greets the day and confronts the mayor about the possibility of a Megadungeon opening in Mapleton.
Season 1, Episode 2 - BDSM-DSM-IV - A client's flu sends Ivy into a bit of a tailspin.
Season 1, Episode 3 - Who Was That Masked Man? - Ivy meets a rival dominatrix, a mean baby, and the love of her life.
Season 1, Episode 4 - Hitting Bottom - Ivy's claustrophobia interferes with Sabrina's "Unrealistic Dog and Scared Postal Worker" fantasy.
Season 1, Episode 5 - Pride and Masochist - Ivy gets a love montage and some unexpected news.
Season 1, Episode 6 - Good Job, Ivy! - Ivy confronts a fear in order to save her dungeon.
